4 Most Up-and-Coming Cities in Florida

Of course you know about Miami and Orlando, but what about the other cities in Florida? Many people tend to stick to the top three most popular places in Florida and forget what the rest of Florida has to offer. So, let’s take a look at some of the up and coming cities in Florida that you need to check out.

St. Petersburg

Nestled between the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg consists of some of the best beaches in Florida. Oh, and did I mention that it has the most consecutive days of sunshine, that’s right, 768 days in a row.

St. Petersburg offers some of the top-rated restaurants in Florida with scenery that would make you drool – not on your food hopefully. If you’re a fan of art, the city has the largest Dali Museum featuring the largest collection of his paintings outside of Europe.

Aside from the exceptional restaurants, St. Petersburg also has a huge and one-of-a-kind public market that is over 20,000 sq-feet of authentic food and drinks. In terms of beaches, you can really get any better. Clearwater beach has pristine sandy beaches and crystal clear shores.

Port Saint Lucie

If you were here fifty years ago, Port Saint Lucie consisted of nothing more than fishing boats and a couple of farms. However, now, it’s become a favorite vacation destination for local Floridians.

With the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Saint Lucie River to the north, you’re given a couple options if you’re wanting to get some sun and lay by the water. Port Saint Lucie is a great area for those who enjoy nature – you have the Savannas State Park, canoeing excursions, and cruises down the St. Lucie River. If you’re a lover of seafood, then you’ll have no problem adapting to the lifestyle here at Port Saint Lucie.

Pembroke Pines

The city’s motto is “Join Us – Progress With Us” – you can’t get any more “up and coming” than that. Pembroke Pines is the 11th most populated city in Florida and is settled in Broward County. Now, Pembroke Pines isn’t super packed with nightclubs and filled with tourists, however, it has amazing scenery and wildlife.

You can take a small plane and go on photography and private tours, spend a day relaxing at Paradise Cove Water Park or visit the Chapel Trail Park Nature Reserve and enjoy a cup of coffee while spending the morning watching the sunrise. Oh! Also, if you’re a fan of golf, then you should know that Pembroke Pines has some amazing golf courses such as the Grand Palms Golf Club and Pembroke Lakes Golf Club.

Sure, you may have heard of Tallahassee, but you probably didn’t think about visiting it. But, surprisingly, Tallahassee fits the stereotype that most people think about when they think of Florida.

The city is draped with tall, aged oak trees and the scenery is filled with rolling hills. Though Tallahassee is historically rich and filled with a genuine culture incomparable to other states, it’s also a university town, which blends both history and youthful energy together.

There is an endless amount of things to discover in Tallahassee such as the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, the Tallahassee Antique Car Museum, Lake Ella & Fred Drake Park and Cascades Park. There is literally something for everyone which is what makes Tallahassee so unique.
