Every Floridian Needs to Visit Miami in March, Here’s Why

If you’re looking to mix things up and have a weekend to spare next month, you need to plan a trip to Miami. The perfect weather during this time of year makes it a hotspot for amazing events and celebrations with plenty of food, music, art, movies and drinks to go around. The rich culture of Miami brings in a full month of awesome events to suit anyone visiting this March.

The Weather is Amazing

March in Florida is a very special time, it’s doesn’t quite rain every day and it’s not unsurvivably hot yet. You’ll find a warm 80s in the daytime and cool 70s at night…just right. A lot of places in the USA have SNOW at this time of year…and here at Things Floridians Like we don’t stand for such things, SUNSHINE PLEASE!

Ultra Music Festival 2017

Ultra is one of Miami’s flagship music events, every year hundreds of thousands of people fly in from all over the world to enjoy a wide variety of electronic dance music in Bayfront Park over the weekend, this year the headliners include Steve Aoki, Zedd, Above & Beyond, and David Guetta. There are very few music festivals worldwide that compare in scale to what Ultra 2017 it putting together this year.


Being the 19th year of Ultra Music Festival, the Ultra team knows how to create an amazing festival experience. The amenities are designed to bring you the most memorable, fun, and enjoyable festival experience with spacious views, wide variety of food and drinks, and a place to get away for the weekend alongside the world-class talent they bring out, it is quite the show!

Miami Music Week 2017

MMW is a week-long celebration of DJs, music, art, and the best pool parties you’ll find in Florida.

If you like electronic music, Miami Music Week is the place to be. Much like Ultra, music-lovers fly in from all corners of the globe for a week of fun and celebration. From Hardwell to Keys and Crates, there is something to suit everyone’s taste. There are few things better than beautiful views, pool parties, and good music all wrapped into one. The Art of Wynwood

Wynwood is a mecca of art and music. You’ll find entire buildings painted and massive concrete walls with masterpieces painted on them by artists from around the world. There are over 70 art galleries, shops, stores and bars to keep you busy and is one of the “most prominent creative communities in the US”

Here you will also find the famous “Wynwood Walls” exhibit where no two pieces of art are alike. If you want to really get a feel for the culture and diversity of Miami, Wynwood is a great place to start.

Miami also hosts a number of other events/festivals to keep you busy in March, there is something here to suit a variety of preferences:

  • Miami International Film Festival, one of the largest film festivals in the world – March 3-12th
  • Callo Ocho Festival, one of the worlds largest Latin street festivals in the world that holds multiple titles in the Guinness Book of World Records – March 12th
  • Fairchild’s International Orchid Festival, a beautiful display of orchids over 2 days – March 10-12th
  • Jazz in the Gardens Music Festival, two days of R&B, jazz, soul music, and hip-hop – March 18-19th
  • The Miami Open, tennis tournament – March 20 – April 2nd
  • 12th Annual Deering Seafood Festival on the Bay, amazing seafood prepared by celebrity chefs with plenty of live entertainment – March 26th

 

All in all, there is something for everyone next month and there is no excuse for any Floridian to not visit Miami this March aside from the bad drivers…but we’re all used to that no matter where in Florida you’re from, right?
