Oktoberfest Tampa Bringing The Spirit of Germany to Florida

When October hits the Sunshine State, Floridians start preparing for a harsh two weeks of winter and wear long pants any day the temperature dips below 80 degrees…

In Germany, October is synonymous with Oktoberfest, a 16+ day festival of celebration and one of the largest festivals in the world. Given the popularity of beer during this special holiday, the brewing scene of Florida meshes very well with the concept. With this in mind, Oktoberfest Tampa has become a staple celebration in the Bay and is returning again to bring the spirit of Germany to Florida

This year, Goose Island and Tampa Bay Audi are bringing us the 7th annual Oktoberfest Tampa on October 7th, 8th and 9th. The event benefits the Tampa-based charity, Are You Safe.

If you happen to like beer, good food, and good causes, Tampa Oktoberfest is an event you don’t want to miss. Chicken Schnitzel? You got it. Craving a juicy bratwurst? You’ll get your fix here. If you can make it out there on Saturday at 3pm, you’ll catch Mayor Buckhorn tapping the ceremonial keg. Oktoberfest Tampa will also be featuring the strongman-like “Outrageous Bavarian Games” for anyone looking to test their might.

If you plan on going, be sure to check out the Oktoberfest Tampa Survival Guide and brush up on your Oktoberfest etiquette before heading out there this weekend.
