6 Best Water Parks in Florida

If you’re from Florida, you know something about the heat. And when you’re sweating, all you want is to dip into a cold pool of water. Well, us Floridians are well prepared with water parks all over the state. If you want to have a fun and thrilling time while cooling off, you need to head to one of our water parks. Not sure which one to go to? No worries, here is a list of the best water parks in Florida.

Wild Waters, Ocala

If you’re in the Ocala and Silver Springs area, stop by the Wild Waters. They have a number of exciting rides that are tons of fun. The Wave pool is filled with 450,000 gallons of water that switch from calm to wild waves, you can also enjoy the Wild Wave Surf Simulator that lets you try out a surfboard and take it for a ride.

Adventure Island, Tampa

If you’re someone who’s looking for some adrenaline, then go to Adventure Island. The park offers a 70-foot high ride called the Colossal Curl. The tallest ride in the park, the Colossal Curl is a four-person raft that goes through 622 feet of twists and turns – making you feel like you’re flying through the air. Adventure island also has four different themed swimming pools such as Paradise Lagoon where you can jump off cliffs, explore waterfalls and caves.

 

Rapids Water Park, Riviera Beach

If you’re in the South Florida area, than Rapids Water Park is the only water park in the area. However, it’s also really awesome. The water park is built on 30-acres of land and has 11 crazy water slides, such as the Body Blasters which shoots your body through 1,000 feet of an enclosed tunnel. If you like surfing, you can catch a wave on their 25,000 square foot wave pool that has 6 different wave patterns – letting you test your limits on the waves.

Wet ‘N Wild, Orlando

Although Wet ‘N Wild will be closing this year it is still one of the most well-known water parks in Florida, Wet N’ Wild in Orlando is a great way to spend the day. The park is filled with tons of slides and rides to keep your adrenaline pumping. Aqua Drag Racer is a four-lane race which you go head-to-head with your opponents as you speed down a twisting track. The Der Stuka slide is for true thrill-seekers as this slide six-story ride is almost vertical.

Tyhoon Lagoon/Blizzard Beach

The undisputed water park champions of Florida are these two Disney properties. Not much has to be said about these except that they’re the best Florida has to offer. It’s Disney, after all.

Sun ‘N Fun Lagoon, Naples

Located in the beautiful city of Naples in Southwest Florida, Sun’N Fun is a great spot to cool off featuring a 1250 foot lazy river. There’s a big pool available for the kids as well as the “Family Falls” to make sure everyone in the family can enjoy their time together.
